Two Lives, One Love Story
This year marked Bill and Marge's 50th wedding anniversary. Instead of letting the day pass quietly, which is probably what they would have done since they never liked to make a big fuss about themselves, we are gathering the way they would have enjoyed.
With a pig roast, good food, music, laughter, and stories that get better every time they are told.
"He showed up on a little horse named Chappy, holding a rose and, because Dad was Dad, a bundle of radishes from his garden."
Bill believed in making every moment count and having fun doing it. Marge spent her life making people feel happy, safe, and loved. She taught hundreds of kids to read, to draw, to believe in themselves. He plowed your driveway like it was his job, then came inside for coffee like that was part of the payment.
After Dad passed on Christmas Day, Mom would look at his photos and say, "I miss my buddy." Less than a month later, she was with him again.
This day will honor both of them. Together. The way it should be.

"If heaven has a gravel driveway, a green John Deere, and a cup of coffee waiting, he is already settled in and probably telling someone they are doing it wrong."
Come celebrate a beautiful marriage and two wonderful humans. They may not be here with us, but this day is exactly how they would have wanted it.
Bill would want you to make it fun. Marge would want you to make someone smile. Do both.
If you want to do something in their honor, don't send flowers. Do what Mom would have done. Buy someone a coffee. Smile at a stranger. Call that person you've been meaning to call. Hold the door. Help someone across the street. Be the reason someone's day got a little better.
That was how she lived. Every single day.
